Each year, Bates College selects 10 men and 10 women from its first year class to receive the Charles A. Dana award, lauding their academic excellence and rich contributions to campus life.

This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.

Eighteen students will study culture, history, and language during the Bates 2015 Fall Semester Abroad program in Berlin.

Bates College graduated 484 students from 32 states and 37 countries on May 31, 2015. Cumulatively, the Class of 2015 performed 80,000 hours of community service, exemplifying Bates' commitment to community learning and civic action.

Jack Allard, a junior attacker on the Bates College men's lacrosse team, has been named a Division III Honorable Mention All-American by the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.

Charlie Fay, a sophomore midfielder on the Bates College men's lacrosse team, has been named to the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association's Division III All-America Second Team.

Moriah Greenstein, a junior attacker on the women's lacrosse team at Bates College, was named a 2015 Division III Third Team All-American by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association.

The NCAA title arrives in Bates' ninth ever and ninth consecutive national regatta appearance.

Caroline Caldwell, a Bates College graduate and Gambier, Ohio native, has been awarded a 2015-2016 Watson Fellowship to support an academic year abroad in Australia, Finland and Tristan da Cunha.

With 45 graduates having received Fulbrights in the past four years, Bates is a "top producer" of Fulbright U.S. Student grants, ranking among the top 10 U.S. bachelor's degree colleges.

At its 148th commencement, Bates College graduated 448 students, representing 29 states and 32 countries. Cumulatively, the students in the 2014 graduating class performed 15,000 hours of community service during their time at Bates, thus exemplifying the Bates commitment to community and civic action.

Made possible through the generous bequest of Charles F. Phillips, the fourth president of Bates, and his wife, Evelyn M. Phillips, Phillips Student Fellowships provide Bates students with an immersive experience in another culture, as well as opportunities for extensive research, service learning, volunteer work or career exploration. The grants are awarded by Bates through a highly competitive application process.
