Jac Stewart and his teammate Taylor Blackburn defeated final-round teams from Yale, Cornell and Loyola Marymount to win the national title at the U.S. Universities Debating Championship on April 13 at Purdue University.

Four members of the Bates women's swimming and diving team received All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Championships, held March 19 to March 22, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Matt Kahn, a member of the Brooks Quimby Debate Council at Bates College, has been ranked among the top-10 U.S. collegiate novice debaters this year.

In early January 2014, Jack Stewart and his teammate Taylor Blackburn competed in the World Universities Debate Championships in Chennai, India, where they were ranked 21st in the world.

Taylor Blackburn, a member of the Brooks Quimby Debate Council at Bates College, has been ranked among the top-10 U.S. collegiate debaters in 2013-14.

As president, Morgosh chairs the college's Executive Council, which has the authority to write the Bates College Student Government budget, to make appointments to student-faculty and student committees, and to act as liason between the student body, student clubs and the Representative Assembly.

Fourgous has oversight authority for all student clubs at Bates and for all changes to club constitutions. In addition to assisting the president of Bates College Student Government in his or her duties, Fourgous chairs the Organizational Review Board, the direct link between the college's Representative Assembly and all student clubs at Bates.
