48 student athletes from Bates College named to NESCAC All Academic

Forty-eight students from Bates College's winter sports teams have received All Academic honors from the New England Small College Athletic Conference. To be honored, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 (raised from 3.40 a year ago).

Dana Scholars Announced for the Class of 2019

In all, Bates honored 10 men and 10 women from the Class of 2019 on the basis of leadership potential, academic excellence and promise, and service to the college community. These individuals earned an average GPA of 3.87, made a rich diversity of extracurricular contributions and submitted thoughtful essays in support of their candidacy.

Made possible through the generous bequest of Charles F. Phillips, the fourth president of Bates, and his wife, Evelyn M. Phillips, Phillips Student Fellowships provide Bates students with an immersive experience in another culture, as well as opportunities for extensive research, service learning, volunteer work or career exploration. The grants are awarded by Bates through a highly competitive application process.
