Bates College

Raye Chappell, of Baltimore, a 2014 graduate of Park School, is working with Catholic Charities REPAIR program as part of her short term program of study at Bates College. The Bates College Short Term is a five-week, intensive period of academic study, research, and exploration for students both on and off campus.

Established in 2013, the Bates College Community Liaison Program is supported by the Office of Campus Life and the Harward Center for Community Partnerships. Students who serve as community liaisons for their clubs lead community engagement efforts developing activities, programs, and partnerships that encourage civic learning.

Sophia Thayer, a 2014 graduate of Boothbay Region High School, is working with Lewiston Housing Authority to increase food access in Lewiston's public housing as part of her short term program of study at Bates College. . Bates College junior Max Silverman has been named a Newman Civic Fellow in recognition of his community engagement.
