Senior Fellows work with Bates College Office of Admission
18 Bates College sniors were selected to serve as a 2019 Senior Fellows in the Office of Admission. In this role, students represented the wider Bates community to prospective students and families. Working with admission staff members, they co-lead information sessions, conducted interviews for domestic and international applicants, provided evaluative interview reports, and supported admission-sponsored events.

Students present environmental capstone projects
Bates College environmental studies majors completed courses in natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities in addition to a 200-hour internship and the community-engaged capstone course in which groups of students pair with a community organization to bring scientific and other types of expertise to a specific project that addresses a community-identified need.

Angela Eustache of Lynn, Mass., a 2016 graduate of KIPP Academy, is working with YWCA in Central Maine as part of her short term program of study at Bates College. The Bates College Short Term is a five-week, intensive period of academic study, research, and exploration for students both on and off campus.
