Essie Martin of Newcastle, Maine, was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2022. This is a distinction earned by students whose grade point average is 3.92 or higher.

Martin, the daughter of Garrett D. Martin and Jennifer F. Mayher, is a 2017 graduate of Lincoln Academy. She is a senior at Bates majoring in geology.
