Julia Smachlo wins All-America honors at 2014 NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships

Bates College swimmer Julia Smachlo received All-America honors at the NCAA Division III Championships, held March 19 to March 22, in Indianapolis, Ind.

Smachlo received multiple All-America honors this year for her top-16 finishes against the nation's best Division III collegiate swimmers in the 500-yard freestyle (15th), the 1,650-yard freestyle (15th) and the 800-yard free relay, in which she and teammates Sara Daher, Caroline Depew and Lindsey Prelgovisk finished 10th.

Smachlo, a 2013 graduate of Phillips Academy, is the daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Smachlo of Rexford.
