Bates student Madelene Santizo participates in fall 2014 study abroad program

Bates student Madelene Santizo of Pomona, California, spent the fall 2014 semester studying abroad in Spain as a participant in the IES study abroad program in Madrid.

Santizo, a 2012 graduate of International Polytechnic High School, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Santizo of Pomona, California. She is majoring in anthropology at Bates.

About 60 percent of Bates students study abroad, and the college offers access to academically rigorous and culturally enriching study-abroad programs in more than 80 countries.
