Bates student Anna Munter awarded Fulbright grant

Recent Bates College graduate Anna Munter of Washington, D.C., has been awarded a Fulbright grant to support an academic year of teaching abroad. The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is funded primarily by the U.S. Department of State and sends some 1,500 citizens abroad each year to more than 155 countries. With 28 graduates having received Fulbrights in the past three years, Bates is a "top producer" of Fulbright U.S. Student grants, ranking among the top 10 U.S. bachelor's degree colleges.

Munter, the daughter of Dr. Cameron P. Munter and Dr. Marilyn Wyatt of Sierra Madre, California, and the granddaughter of Leonard and Helen-Jeanne Munter of Claremont, California, is a 2010 graduate of the International School of Prague. She majored in French at Bates and received an English Teaching Assistantship for Malaysia.
